Our newest facility located on the north side of Shelby is the largest, most efficient ready mix plant in the region. Opening in May of 2004, this plant allows us to better serve a larger area, and to do it quicker than ever before. The plant can churn out 200 yards per hour by loading a truck in approximately three minutes. The increased capacity of the aggregate storage facility ensures inventory levels can easily remain constant. This is also one of a handful in the nation with a GPS tracking system with automatic status reporting for each truck, to allow the dispatcher the capability to better calculate delivery times.
The plant is also home to 10 immaculately maintained mixers, which are equipped with GPS tracking system with automatic status reporting, state of the art radio devices, rear cameras for safety, flow meters to accurately calculate water additions, as well as a safe and courteous driver.

The true home base for Wellington Hamrick, Inc. is located in Boiling Springs, where it has been since 1963. Not only does this plant serve as an additional ready mix site, it is also the location of our 12,000 square foot precast production facility. Here you will also find our laboratory where we perform our quality control measures, whether it be conducting strength tests to monitor our outgoing products, or sieve analysis to monitor our incoming aggregate inventory. Quality control is something we place a great deal of effort towards in all areas of production.
This plant also houses the administration portion of the company, including Kitty’s office, accounts receivable, and a business suite and conference room area.

Since 1985, we have been providing quality concrete not only to residential, but commercial, industrial, and highway construction projects as well. Precast
Wellington Hamrick, Inc. has a long history as a pre-cast concrete producer. In 1963 Wellie Hamrick was involved in the production of pre-cast fallout shelters. A few years later, he went on to design, patent, manufacture and distribute a septic tank with an internal separation and distribution function. Throughout the region Mr. Hamrick was known for his unique tanks and his uncompromising standard of quality for on site septic systems. Although he retired from the business in 1989 many of his signature systems are in service today. In the tradition of our founder, Wellington Hamrick, Inc. keeps quality and customer satisfaction an ever present goal.

Catch Basins
In 1998 the NCDOT standardized the specification for precast concrete drainage structures (or catch basins) and Wellington Hamrick, Inc. started production in a new 12,000 sq ft indoor precasting facility designed to comply with those standards. Since that time more than 100,000 quality NCDOT approved precast catch basins have been distributed to highway projects, sub-divisions, municipalities and commercial development sites from Asheville to Charlotte.
At Wellington Hamrick, Inc., we set the standard for quality with our early high-strength daily production and our in house laboratory testing. Septic Tanks
Wellington Hamrick, Inc. produces and distributes precast concrete septic tanks, pump tanks, grease interceptors in 1000 and 1500 gallon sizes that meet the qualifications of North Carolina DENR and South Carolina DHEC and most regional municipalities. In addition associated products such as trench bed pipe, PVC pipe and fittings, and Infiltrator brand panel systems are available for delivery or for pick up at our Boiling Springs location. Most tank orders can be filled with same day service to Cleveland, Rutherford, Gaston and Polk counties in North Carolina and Cherokee, Spartanburg and York counties in South Carolina.
